Non-sparking, stainless and validated-spare tooling for formulation, API and packaging sites.
Non-sparking, stainless and validated-spare tooling for formulation, API and packaging sites.
A carbon-steel tool with a wooden handle in a Grade C area is a deviation on an audit report. That is the whole difference between buying tools for a pharma plant and buying them for anywhere else: the tool is part of the documented environment, not just an instrument for turning a fastener.
Solvent handling, spirit storage and classified hazardous areas need non-sparking. Product-contact zones need stainless or coated, sealed grips and no loose fibre. Everything is documented, validated and change-controlled, which means substituting a brand quietly is not an option, however good the substitute is.
We carry 1,050 non-sparking items across 54 product types in aluminium-bronze (NSA) and beryllium-copper (NSB), on the shelf rather than on indent. That matters more than the range breadth: what stops a changeover is the one spanner you can't get until Thursday.
Aluminium-bronze (NSA) and beryllium-copper (NSB) spanners, hammers, scrapers, chisels and punches held at Siyaganj: 1,050 line items, not an indent-only listing that takes six weeks.
Material and test certificates supplied with the order, so a tool purchase never becomes an audit finding. File them with the equipment history record, not the purchase file.
Once a tool is written into an SOP or a changeover kit, the part number stops being negotiable. We hold that exact number so repeat orders match what was validated.
Stainless and chrome finishes, no wood, no loose-fibre handles, sealed grips. We would rather help specify before you buy than explain the finding afterwards.
From boiler house to dispatch. Note how the tool material changes as you move from utilities into classified areas: that transition is where most specification mistakes happen.
Grouped by the constraint that drives the choice: spark risk first, then product contact. That is the order the decision actually gets made in, and it is why a pharma tool list looks nothing like an engineering one.
The other half of a pharma tool list: validated fastenings on the clean side, and ordinary heavy engineering on the utility side. Keeping the two sets physically apart is most of what stops a tool crossing into a zone it does not belong in.
This is the block a QA head reads before a purchase head does. None of it is a sales argument. It is the set of findings we have watched plants collect.
Aluminium-bronze (NSA) and beryllium-copper (NSB) are both spark-resistant but differ materially in hardness, wear and cost. NSB holds an edge and a hex better and costs more; NSA is the sensible default for most spanner and scraper work. Blanket-specifying the expensive one across the plant wastes money that would be better spent on having both sizes in stock. Tell us the area classification and we'll split the list.
Wherever a lubrication point can contact product, the grade has to be H1. The part that gets missed is the dispensing equipment: keep H1 grease guns physically colour-separated from EP2 units. A shared gun is a cross-contamination finding waiting to be written, and it is the cheapest finding in this list to prevent.
Wood absorbs moisture and harbours contamination; loose-bristle brushes shed into product. In classified areas specify moulded or stainless throughout: hammers, mallets, files, brushes and scrapers included. It is worth auditing what is already on the shadow boards, because this is usually where legacy tools survive.
Shadow boards with counted tool positions, per changeover kit, counted in and out. A missing spanner in a compression room is an incident, not an inconvenience. Foam-insert boards make the count instant rather than diligent.
Material and test certificates supplied with tooling should be filed with the equipment history record, not buried in purchase paperwork. When an auditor asks, the answer needs to be in the room the question is asked in.
Built per line, held on a dedicated trolley, shadow-boarded, counted in and out. Sharing one kit across three lines is the most common reason changeovers overrun: the time goes into hunting, not turning.
The unclassified half of the plant, where ordinary industrial tooling is fine and where most of the physical work actually happens.
Smaller and more controlled than an engineering shop's indent, but the stockout consequence is worse: a consumable shortage during a campaign stops a batch, not a bay.
Symptom, root cause, and the fix: the conversations we have most often on this shop floor.
Tool marks or metal traces flagged in an audit
Carbon-steel tools used in product-contact zones
Stainless or coated set, segregated by zone and shadow-boarded so it cannot migrate
Changeover consistently overrunning
One tool kit shared across lines, so the time goes into hunting
Dedicated shadow-boarded changeover kit per line, counted in and out
Gland leaking again after repacking
Old packing not fully extracted before the new rings went in
Correctly sized packing extractor, and pull every ring before repacking
Grease found near a product zone
A single grease gun used everywhere in the plant
Colour-coded, H1-dedicated dispensing, stored separately from the general MRO gun
Priced, stocked lines only, and where a cheaper tier is the right answer, we say so.
Where our non-sparking range comes from: the NSA (aluminium-bronze) and NSB (beryllium-copper) part numbers running through spanners, hammers, scrapers, chisels, punches and brushes. Material certificates available with the order.
Breadth on the general engineering side: spanner and socket range for utilities, ETP and services, where non-sparking is not required and paying for it would be waste.
Storage and shadow-boarding: tool boxes, modular storage and trolleys for changeover kits, plus measuring for line setting.
Lubrication discipline. Dedicated H1 grease guns, couplers and drum equipment, and the fact that couplers and nipples come from one line is what makes plant-wide standardisation stick.
Send us the area classification and the line, and we'll come back with an NSA / NSB split, the stainless items, and what certificates ship with each. We would rather spend an hour on the specification than replace a set that turned into a finding.
