Line-side tooling, torque control and breakdown cover for OEMs and tier suppliers.
Line-side tooling, torque control and breakdown cover for OEMs and tier suppliers.
Line stoppage in an assembly plant is measured in rupees per minute. That single fact governs everything about how tooling gets bought here: depth over breadth, standardisation over shopping around, and availability over a marginally better price.
Fasteners are torque-controlled and audited, which makes a torque wrench a measuring instrument rather than a spanner. Tooling is standardised across stations, so substituting a brand mid-year creates a problem, not a saving: kits stop being interchangeable and audit trails stop matching.
Below the OEMs sits the tier-2 and tier-3 ecosystem (press shops, forging units, machine shops, gear and transmission component makers, rubber and plastic component suppliers), and below that the aftermarket: authorised service workshops, fleet garages and transport operators along the Agra–Bombay road. The tool list changes at every level. The consequence of running out does not.
Assembly stations consume the same 30–40 items relentlessly. We hold those in depth at Siyaganj, so a reorder is a delivery note rather than a shutdown.
One brand, one spec, one part number across every station and every shift, so kits stay interchangeable, operators stay trained on the same tool, and audits stay clean.
Same-day dispatch to Pithampur and Dewas on stocked lines. Most maintenance emergencies turn out to be a common item, not an exotic one, which is exactly why holding the common items deep matters.
Volumes at tier-2 and tier-3 level don't get OEM attention from national platforms. They get it here, because that is most of what we have supplied for thirty years.
Walk an automotive plant from blank to dispatch. This is what is actually in the tool trolleys at each station: read down the left column and tick what you're short of.
The core hand tool set, grouped by what it does rather than by where it sits in a catalogue. If you are equipping a new bay or replacing a lost trolley, start here.
Every one of these is stocked and priced. Click through for sizes, part numbers and list price.
Spec guidance is written for production duty, not for a purchase committee. Where a cheaper grade is the honest answer we say so on the product page.
| Tool | Spec guidance | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Angle grinder 100 mm | 850–1000 W, restart protection | Deburring, weld dressing |
| Angle grinder 180 / 230 mm | 2000 W+, side handle, guard fitted | Heavy stock removal, cut-off |
| Impact wrench 1/2" | Corded 500 Nm+ or 18 V brushless cordless | Wheel and heavy fastenings |
| Cordless drill-driver 18 V · batteries & charger | 2 × batteries minimum, clutch settings | General assembly |
| Rotary hammer SDS-Plus | 800 W+ | Fixture and machine anchoring |
| Impact Driver | 18 V, 1/4" hex | Repetitive small fastenings |
| Air Impact Wrench · Pneumatic Tool | Where line air is already run to the station | Fettling, die touch-up, high-cycle fastening |
| Cut-off machine 355 mm | 2200 W | Stock cutting |
| Bench grinder, sander & specials | 200 mm twin wheel, tool rest set correctly | Tool sharpening, finishing |
Duty note. A 20-minute-per-hour DIY-grade grinder fails in about four months on a shop floor. Match tool grade to shift hours, not to purchase price: a tool bought twice a year is more expensive than the one you didn't want to pay for. If your duty cycle is genuinely light, say so and we'll quote the cheaper tier without an argument.
The aftermarket half of this segment: authorised service workshops, fleet garages and the transport operators along the Agra–Bombay road. Different work to a plant, and a different tool list, but the same requirement: the item has to be on the shelf the morning the vehicle is on the ramp.
For a fleet running its own workshop, the honest advice is to spend on the torque wrenches and the jack and treat everything else as replaceable. Send us your fleet size and we'll build the standing order around what actually gets consumed.
The monthly indent. These are consumables: budget them per shift, not per purchase. Send us one month of actual consumption and we'll set your reorder levels against it.
The single tool box that lives outside the maintenance office, so nobody has to find a key at 3 AM. Build it once, shadow-board it, and count it back in after every call-out.
Roughly twenty line items. Costed once, it is cheaper than a single hour of stopped line, which is the argument that usually gets it approved.
The most common avoidable damage we get called about is a scored shaft. It is almost always a sizing problem, not a technique problem.
Measure across the back face of the bearing you have to grip, not the shaft. The puller has to close inside the housing clearance and still get behind the inner or outer race, whichever you are pulling against. A puller whose minimum span is larger than the clearance simply cannot be used, however much tonnage it has.
Reach is the distance from the leg tip to the screw centreline. If the bearing sits deep on a stepped shaft, a short-reach puller will pull at an angle, which is exactly how legs slip and shafts get gouged. Measure from the bearing face to the shaft end before ordering.
Sized on interference fit and bearing size, not on how stuck it feels. Under-tonnage means you lean on the bar and the legs deflect; over-tonnage is harmless but bulky. If you don't know, tell us the bearing number and we'll work it back.
Thin jaws get behind tight races but bend under load; thick jaws are stronger but won't fit. This is the trade-off a two-leg and three-leg pair exists to solve; most plants need both, in two spans.
Three-leg self-centres and is kinder to the shaft, and is the default for anything you can get all the way around. Two-leg is for when a housing, a keyway or an adjacent component blocks one side.
Send the bearing number and a photo of how it sits. We'd rather size it with you than sell you a puller that comes back.
Symptom, root cause, and the fix: the conversations we have most often on this shop floor.
Fastener heads rounding on the line
Worn sockets, wrong drive size, or a 12-point socket used on an impact gun
Move to 6-point impact-rated sockets and keep hand sets and impact sets physically separate
Shaft scored during bearing removal
Puller span mismatched to the bearing, or the hammer-and-chisel method
Correct 2-leg / 3-leg sizing: see the span selection guide above
Torque wrench readings drifting
No recalibration schedule, and wrenches stored wound up at their working setting
Annual recalibration, and store every click wrench wound back to the lowest scale mark
Grinder failing every few months
DIY-grade tool put on production duty
Duty-cycle matched professional tool with restart protection and overload cut-out
Grease gun coupler leaking at every point
Wrong coupler type for the nipple fitted
Match coupler to nipple type and standardise the nipple across the plant
Priced, stocked lines only, and where a cheaper tier is the right answer, we say so.
The default for line-side hand tools where the spend is high and the consumption is constant: spanners, pliers, screwdrivers, hammers. Indian-made, consistent, and easy to keep standardised across shifts because the part numbers don't move.
The deepest range we carry, and where the impact sockets and slogging spanners come from. If you need an odd drive size or a heavy fastening tool in a hurry, this is usually the line that has it.
Storage, tool boxes, measuring and the site-grade end of the hand tool range. Good where tools are issued to people rather than to stations.
Where the duty cycle is genuinely production: cordless drivers, impact wrenches and grinders that run shift-long. We won't push it on a maintenance bay that uses a grinder twice a week.
Lubrication and fluid handling: grease guns, couplers, oil bowsers, drum pumps. This is the line to standardise on if you want couplers and nipples to actually match plant-wide.
Paste any checklist from this page into the box. We'll come back with what's in stock at Siyaganj today, what dispatches tomorrow, and a firm lead time on the rest, priced at tier-supplier volumes, not platform list.
